and that William Welling and Mortimore Dorsey having re-
ceived a majority of the votes cast, are duly elected to the
General Assembly of Maryland.

Which was read and referred to the committee on Elections.
The hour of 12 o'clock having arrived, the House took up
the order of the day; being

The bill entitled, an act to prevent the circulation of notes
or bills of a denomination less than ten dollars, from and af-
ter the first day of July, 1858; and of less than twenty dol-
lars, from and after the first day of January, 1859.

On motion of Mr. Contee,

Said bill was re-committed to the committee on Currency.

Mr. Goldsborough, from a select committee, reported favor-
ably on a bill entitled, an act to provide for a general index
of judgments, in Talbot county;

Which was read the first time;

Also, reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to pro-
vide for the re-copying of portions of certain record books in
Talbot county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Ford, from a select committee, reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act to authorise the County Commissioners of
Baltimore county, to borrow the sum of money, and to make
the levy therein mentioned;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Spence, from a select committee, reported a bill enti-
tled, an act to make valid a deed from Robert H. Powell and
Elizabeth, his wife, to Benj. Bassett;

Which was read the first time and referred to the commit-
tee on Judiciary.

Mr. Dail, from a select committee, reported favorably on
the Senate bill entitled, an act to change the commencement
of the April term of the Circuit Court for Dorchester county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stirling, from a select committee, reported favorably on
a bill entitled, an act to simplify and regulate proceedings in
Equity;                                                                                         

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Burgess, from a select committee, reported favorably
