164            JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS         [Jan. 27,

A bill entitled, an act to change the commencement of the
April term of the Circuit Court for Dorchester county;

Which was read the first time, and referred to a special
committee, consisting of Messrs. Dail, Sudler, of Somerset,
and Hearn;

Also,

A bill entitled, an act to make valid the acts of Hiram
McCullough, as Commissioner, under the act of 1828, chap-
ter 165; also,

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the Commissioner of the
Land Office to make such correction in the courses or outlines
of the tract of land called "Love in a Village," both in the
original certificate of survey, and in the patent thereof, as
shall make the same correspond with the original plat on file
in said office; also,

A bill entitled, an act to make valid and effectual a bill of
sale from Henry Cassell, late of Carroll county, deceased, to
Daniel Woodyard;

Which were severally read the first time, and referred to
the committee on Judiciary.

The bill entitled, an act to prevent swine from going at
large in the village of Elkridge Landing, and vicinity,

Being upon its second reading;

Mr. McPherson moved to strike out the 3rd and 4th sec-
tions of said bill;

Pending said motion,

On motion of Mr. Alexander,

Said bill was re-committed to the Howard county delega-
tion.

The bill entitled, an act to allow a pension to Catharine S.
McKim, widow of Alexander McKim, a private in the cavalry
in the War of the Revolution, and appropriating a sum of
money for the payment thereof;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money for
the payment of the claims of Collins, Heath & Hutchinson,
Scott & Wilson, John H. Slemaker, Lewis Gootee, J. S.
Merrikin, James Branzell, William Freeman, H. G. Letour-
neau, Wm. J. Jewell, George W. Beckenbaugh, John W.
White and James Murray;

Was read the second time, by special order, the third time,
three-fourths of the members concurring, and passed by yeas
and nays, as follows:
