and cannot fail to interest his hearers. He made a great im-
pression in England, and I am sure his experience and argu-
ments, will place the cause in a newer and stronger light than
we have been wont to regard it. Permit me through you, to
extend a special invitation to the members of the House, to
be present on that occasion.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, offered the following order:

Ordered, That this Hall be granted for the use of the Mary-
land State Temperance Society, on the evening of Febru-
ary 4th;

Which was rejected.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore county, offered the following
order:

Ordered, That the Librarian be instructed to furnish the
clerks of each Circuit Court, the Registers of Wills and the
Board of Commissioners, of each county in the State, with a
copy of the "Maryland Digest," by Brown and Brune.

Mr. Belt offered the following as a substitute:

Ordered, That the State Librarian furnish to each of the
clerks of Courts and Registers of Wills, in this State and to
the Boards of Commissioners in the several counties of this
State, a copy of the Digest of Reports by Norris, Brown
and Brune, and also a copy of the Digest of the same by
Stockett, Miller and Merrick, and that the said Librarian,
shall at once purchase a sufficient number of copies of said
works to fulfill this order, if there be not enough now in the
Library;

On motion of Mr. Ford, of Cecil,
The order and substitute were laid on the table.

Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore city, offered the following order:
Ordered, That one thousand copies of the petition of

Thomas B. Sargent and others, praying for the endowment

of the Baltimore Female College, be printed;

Which was rejected.

Mr. Belt offered the following order:
