The said bill was then sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Mackubin,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Inspections, to
bring in a bill providing for the appointment of inspectors
and measurers of all manures sold by the load—provide for
their compensation—and determine what quantity shall con-
stitute a load.
On motion of Mr. McPherson,
Leave was granted to the committee on Ways and Means,
to introduce a bill authorising the Comptroller to employ
counsel, other than the State's Attorneys, for collection of dues
from delinquent State officers.
On motion of Mr. McPherson,
Leave was granted to the committee on Ways and Means,
to introduce an act fixing appropriate penalties for the viola-
tion of the License Laws of 1856.
Mr. Kilbourn presented a memorial of 1.1.4 citizens of Anne
Arundel county, asking the repeal of a portion of an act by
which the citizens of said county are prohibited from using;
what is called a "Sink Boat," and the passage of a law to
prohibit non-residents from gunning in the waters of said
county;
