Mr. Stirling offered the following order:

Ordered, That the report of the President of St. John's
College heretofore referred to the committee on Ways and
Means, be referred to the committee on Education;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Thruston offered the following order:

Ordered, That the application of Joseph Sprigg, for com-
pensation for the loss of a negro and the petition and papers
therewith connected, may be withdrawn from the files of the
last General Assembly;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Burgess,

Leave was granted the Charles county delegation, to intro-
duce a bill to allow H. E. Willet, late collector of taxes in
the third election district of Charles county, further time to
complete his collections;

On motion of Mr. Welling,

Leave was granted to the committee on Judiciary, to intro-
duce a bill defining the power of the Court of Appeals in
certain cases.

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,

Leave was granted to the Talbot; county delegation, to in-
troduce a bill to exempt certain property from taxation be-
longing to the Protestant Episcopal Church in Saint Michael's
Parish in Talbot county.

On motion of Mr. Spence,

Leave was granted to the Worcester county delegation, to
introduce a bill supplementary to an act entitled, an act to
promote the more general diffusion of information, respecting
the proceedings of the commissioners of Worcester county in
this State.                                                                           

On motion of Mr. Spence,

Leave was granted to the Worcester county delegation, to
introduce a bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from
Robert H. Powell and Elizabeth Powell, his wife, to Benja-
min Bassett.

On motion of Mr. Summers,

Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation,
to introduce a bill entitled, a supplement to an act passed De-
