discharge of his duties as a member of the City Guards, in
the railroad riots;

Which was referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Stirling presented a petition from the committee on the
part of the city council of Baltimore, against the bill for divid-
ing the wards of the city, and fixing the number of members
of the city council ;

Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Mr. Morgan presented a petition from Wm. O. Reeder, of
St. Mary's county praying for relief;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Contee presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Prince George's county, asking the creation of another Pri-
mary School district;

Which was referred to the Prince George's county delega-
tion.

Mr. McGonigal presented a petition from sundry citizens of
the first election district of Caroline county, to change the
School law;

Which was referred to the committee on Education.

Mr. Davis presented a petition from Henry S. Coudon, and
197 other citizens of Cecil county, praying the passage of an
act for the protection and preservation of Partridges, Woodcock,
Pheasants and other Birds ;

Which was referred to the committee on Agriculture.

Mr. Goldsborough presented a memorial of the vestry and
wardens of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Saint Michael's
Parish, in Talbot county ;

Which was referred to the Talbot county delegation.

Mr. Morgan presented a memorial from William Coad and
54 other citizens of St. Mary's county, praying the passage of
a law enabling them to dredge for oysters;

Which was referred to St. Mary's, Calvert and Charles
counties delegation.

Mr. Harrington presented a memorial from 102 persons of
Baltimore city, against granting license for the sale of liquors;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Kilgour offered the following order :
