Smith, of Baltimore co., Clarke, Goldsborough, Waller,
Sudler, of Somerset, Tilghman, Dail, Richardson, Grieves,
Davis, Ford, of Cecil, Kidd, Belt, Wyville, Contee, Sudler,
of Queen Anne's, Landing, Spence, Hearn, Thomas, Root,
Koons, Hobbs, Hanway, Bacon, Todd, McGonigal, Stirl-
ing, Rogers, McPherson, Smith, of Baltimore city, Kennard,
Lynch, of Baltimore city, Harrington, Crowley, Forrest,
Alexander, Rohrer, Summers, Schnebly. Duvall, Worthing-
ton, Thruston, Kilgour, Barnard, Mountz, McKinstry, Rein-
dollar, Day, Welling and Dorsey.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.

Mr. Summers presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Washington county, for an act to provide for the better pro-
tection of birds in this State;

Which was referred to the committee on Agriculture.

Mr. Bacon presented a petition of John T. Bradbury and
59 others, citizens of the Sixth Election District of Harford
county, asking the passage of a law prohibiting free negroes
from fitting out and having the control of boats, for the pur-
pose of fishing with gilling nets, in the head waters of Ches-
apeake bay and its tributaries;

Which was referred to the committee on Colored Population.

Mr. Grieves presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Dorchester county, for the preservation of useful birds;

Which was referred to the committee on Agriculture.

Mr. Mackubin presented a petition of sundry citizens of
Anne Arundel county, praying the passage of a law for the
preservation of the useful birds of the State;

Which was referred to the committee on Agriculture.

Mr. Alexander presented a petition of George Beatty and
eight others, wood sellers in Baltimore city, praying for re-
lief in cases therein mentioned;

Which was referred to the committee on Inspections.

Mr. Stirling presented a petition of 32 white barbers of
Baltimore city, praying that barber shops may be closed by
law, on Sundays;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Stirling presented a petition of 32 manufacturers and
dealers in leather, of Baltimore city, against a change in the
Inspection laws;

Which was referred to the committee on Inspections.
Mr. Stirling presented a petition of members of the City
Council of Baltimore, asking the attention of the Legislature
