126            JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 23:

On motion of Mr. Todd,

Leave was granted to the committee on Claims, to introduce
a bill for the relief of the sureties on the bond of Edward S.
L. Young, former State Tax Collector for Caroline county ;

On motion of Mr. Todd,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations, to in-
troduce a bill incorporating the Farmers' and Planters' Bank,
of Caroline county ;

On motion of Mr. Thruston,

Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations, to
bring in a bill to incorporate the "Miller Coal Company."

On motion of Mr. Alexander,

Leave was granted to the committee on the Judiciary, to
report a bill to repeal the first section of an act entitled, an
act relating to the practice in Baltimore County Court, in cer-
tain cases, passed at December session 1844, chapter 5.

On motion of Mr. Thruston,

. Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations, to
bring in a bill to incorporate the "Hazlewood Coal Company."

On motion of Mr. Magruder,

Leave was granted to the committee on Claims, to intro-
duce a bill to pay Nathaniel Duke, late Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Calvert county, certain fees due him by the State.

The Speaker laid before the House the report of the Presi-
dent of St. John's College;

Which was referred to the committee on Ways and Means;
Also, the report of the Trustees of Charlotte Hall School;
Which was referred to the committee on Education;
Also, the report of the Trustees of Frederick College;
Which was referred to the committee on Education;
Also, the report of the Patapsco Female Institute;
Which was referred to the committee on Education;
Also, the report of East Newmarket Academy;
Which was referred to the committee on Education;
Also, the report of the Trustees of Darlington Academy;
Which was referred to the committee on Education;
Also, the report of the Trustees of Washington College;
Which was referred to the committee on Education;
Also, the report of the Trustees of Elkton Academy;
Which was referred to the committee on Education.
