116              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 22,

Mr. Mackubin called up the Substitute to the Preamble
and Resolutions offered by him on Thursday the 21st inst.

Mr. Belt, moved to recommit the resolutions and substitute
to the Committee of the Whole.

The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows:

Mr. Mackubin moved the House adjourn until to-morrow
morning at 10 o'clock;

Which motion was lost and the House refused to adjourn:
            On motion of Mr. Contee,

The House resolved itself into a Committee of the Whole,
Mr. Summers in the Chair.                              

After some time spent in Committee, the Speaker resumed
the Chair.

Mr. Contee moved that the House adjourn.
