records of Montgomery county.

On motion of Mr. Seth,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations, to intro-
duce a bill, to amend the charter of the Towsontown Plank
Road company.

Mr. Mackubin presented a petition from Horace Gambrill,
Owen M. Taylor, George Clayton and others, asking com-
pensation for services therein named;

Referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Straughn presented a petition from J. L. Purvis and
others, asking leave to build a school house in Carolina
county;

Referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

The Speaker laid before the House the report of the com-
mittee on Repairs of the Public Buildings:

Referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Jacobs offered the following:

Ordered, That all officers commanding regiments, and all
officers who have been in command of regiments within the
last ten years, shall forthwith see that the arms belonging to
the companies are in proper order, and report the same with-
in thirty days to the Adjutant General;

Which was adopted.
Also, the following:

Ordered, That all the arms of all the companies which are
broken up, shall be immediately collected and reported to
the Adjutant General of this State, by the same, and that
they shall be clothed with full power so to do by the Adju-
tant General;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Turner, of Howard, presented a petition from Thomas
W. Levering and Sons, and others, praying the repeal of
the charter of the Washington and Baltimore Turnpike;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

Also, a petition from Rodrick Arnold and others, praying
