the repeal of the charter of the Washington and Baltimore
Turnpike;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Seth presented the petition of William Chesnut and
others, on the oyster law,

Referred to the special committee already appointed on that
subject.

On motion of Mr. Durant,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to intro-
duce a bill requiring the auditors of the several courts of this
State to publish in a newspaper in the county or city in
which they reside, once a week for three successive weeks,
prior to the filing, their report, for confirmation.

Mr. Morgan offered the following :

Ordered, That the invitation extended to this House by the
Maryland Agricultural College, to visit that institution, be
and the same is accepted, and that the House will proceed
thither on Saturday, the 21st instant.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Turner presented the petition of E. Snowden and
others, praying the repeal of the charter of the Washington
and Baltimore Turnpike ;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Denison, of Baltimore county, offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary, be directed
to enquire into the expediency of repealing section six
hundred and three, (603,) of the revised local laws relating
to hucksters ;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Chaplain,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill entitled, an act to amend the 110th, and 111th,
sections of the 30th article of the Code of General Laws,
relating to the penalties for selling lottery tickets, and to add
new sections thereto.

On motion of Mr. Brining,

Leave was granted the committee on Elections to introduce
a bill in relation to tickets on elections.

On motion of Mr. Briscoe,
