98                JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 18,

Mr. Freaner offered the following :

Ordered, That the Speaker of this House, be and his here-
by empowered to appoint a committee clerk, to supply the
vacancy caused by the death of Robert Bowie ;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Denison, of Baltimore county, offered the following :

Ordered, That the use of the Hall of the House of Repre-
sentatives, be allowed to the institution for the instruction of
the deaf, dumb and blind, for an exhibition to be held to-
morrow evening, January 19th ;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Beall offered the following :

Ordered, That the post matrer be required to keep open the
post office of this House, until the hour of nine o'clock, at
night, in order that members having important business
matters requiring immediate attention, may have further
facilities for doing so :

Which was adopted.                                                         

On motion of Mr. Salmon,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to report
a supplement to an act entitled, an act to incorporate the
Franklin Savings Bank, of Frederick.

On motion of Mr. Jones, of Talbot county,

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to introduce
a bill, to appropriate a sum of money to pay Thomas K.
Robson, of Talbot county, for printing done for the State.

On motion of Mr. McAllister.

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill, to regulate the issuing of license to traders,"
keepers of Ordinaries and others, in this State.

Mr. Denison, of Baltimore county, offered the following:

Ordered, That the Comptroller, be directed to report to this
House, all the information in his possession, in relation to
licenses, for the sale of, spirituous liquors in the city of
Baltimore;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Harding,
