A bill entitled, an act to compensate James T. McCullough
for legal services rendered the State, by authority of the Gov-
ernor;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

Also, delivered the following:

A bill entitled, an act to authorise and require the Trea-
surer of the State of Maryland to pay to David C. Blackiston,
late of Kent county, deceased, a sum of money, being an
over payment in the Treasury by said administrator;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Claims.

Mr. Krafft, from a select committee, reported a bill en-
titled, an act authorising the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore to license carts and other vehicles to use the streets
of Baltimore;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Long, from a select committee, reported favorably on
the bill entitled, an act to amend the act of the General As-
sembly of Maryland, passed at the session of 1858, chapter
263, for the protection of certain game in Howard county,
etc.;

Which was read the first time.

The bill entitled, an act in favor of the Maryland State
Agricultural Society,

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Briscoe proposed to amend as follows:

After the word "Maryland," in the first section, insert,
"upon the warrant of the Comptroller;"

Which was adopted.

The said bill was then read a second time.

The bill entitled, an act to amend the eighty-fifth section
of article twenty-one of the code of public local laws, by
raising the salary of the clerk of the commissioners of Wash-
ington county;

Was read the second time.
