Mr. Burgess moved to amend, by adding: "and to meet
again at 3½ o'clock, to consider the bill of Mr. Dennis, of
Somerset, relative to the colored population, and continue the
consideration of that bill until finally disposed of;" when,

On motion of Mr. McAllister,
The House adjourned.

AFTERNOON SESSION, 3½ o'clock.

The House met pursuant to adjournment. Present at the
call of the roll the following members:

of Prince George's, Legg, Starkey, Jacobs, Landing, Dennis,
of Worcester, Kessler, Claggett, Routzahn, Johnson, Sal-
mon, Naill, Wilson, of Harford, Bayless, McCoy, Straughn,
Goldsborough, Krafft, Booze, Seth, Berry, McAllister,
Turner, of Baltimore city, Denison, of Baltimore city, Coudy,
Eakle, Brining, Stake, Griffith, Gordon, Barnard, McCleary,
Roop, Gorsuch, Mills, Turner of Howard and Brown.

On motion of Mr. Krafft,
The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent after the absent members.

After sometime the Sergeant-at-Arms returned, and re-
ported that he had notified the absent members to give their
attendance; when

On motion of Mr. Morgan,

All further proceedings under the call wore dispensed with.
On motion of Mr. Legg,

The rules were suspended to enable him to present the fol-
