On motion of Mr. Briscoe,
A committee of three were appointed to wait upon Judge
Stump, to inform him of the action of this House.
Messrs. Briscoe, Maxwell, and Compton were constituted
said committee.
The committee appointed to wait on Judge Stump reported
that he had instructed them to say that he would appear he-
fore the bar of the House in person or by counsel at 1 o'clock
to answer such charges as would be preferred against him.
Mr. Freaner moved that the report on the case of Judge
Stump be made the special order of the day to take precedence
of all other business at one o'clock.
