bond of Elijah J. Abell, former collector of State taxes for
the 2d collection district of St. Mary's county, for the years
1851 and 1852;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of
money for they payment of the claims, of the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad company:

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to appropriate a certain
sum of money for the use of William Segafoose, sheriff of
Carroll county, for services rendered the State;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act for the benefit of Stephen
J. Bradley, Jas. T. Perkins and Edward Sudler, former sher-
iffs of Queen Anne's county.

Which were severally read the first time.

Also, on the Senate bill entitled, an act to refund to Samuel
T. Hopkins and John Donovan, certain taxes;

Also, on the Senate bill entitled, an act to compensate
Edwin H. Webster, of Harford county, for professional ser-
vices in the cases of the State against John Montgomery, and
the State against John Barnard, by appointment of the
Governor, with the following proposed amendment:

Strike out the words "three hundred and fifty," and insert
"two hundred."

Also, on the Senate bill entitled, an act to compensate Eze-
kiel F. Chambers for professional services rendered the State
in the case of the State vs. Solomon Wilson, with the follow-
ing proposed amendment:

Strike out the word " seven," and insert " two."

Mr. Long, from the committee on Ways and Means, re-
ported favorably on the bill entitled, an act making appro-
priation for the support of the government for the year end-
ing on the 1st day of January, 1862 ;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act making appropriations for
the support of the Government for the year ending on the 1st
day of January, 1801:

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Legg, from a special committee, reported favorably on
the Senate bill entitled, an act to add the following section
to article 17 of the code of public local laws, relating to widen-
ing and straightening the public road from Beaver Dam via
Slider Spark's Shops, to the public road from Church Hill to
Ruthsburg, near Patrick's Branch.

Mr. Johnson, from a special committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to regulate gunning in Frederick
