Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Turner, of Howard,

Leave was granted the Howard county delegation to intro-
duce a bill to authorise the commissioners of Howard county,
to levy a sum of money to build two school houses at Ellicott's
Mill's, in said county.

On motion of Mr. Barnard,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to add a new section to the code of public local
laws, article one, relating to Frostburg.

On motion of Mr. Krafft,

Leave was granted the Baltimore city delegation to intro-
duce a bill to amend article four of the code of public local
laws, by adding thereto a now section relating to the Crimi-
nal court, of Baltimore city.

Mr. Barnard presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Frostburg, against the extension of the limits of said town;

Referred to the committee on Corporations.

On motion of Mr. Worthington,

Leave was granted the committee on Agriculture to intro-
duce a bill to repeal the 17th article of the code of public
general laws relating to the State Agricultural Chemist.

On motion of Mr. Dennis, of Somerset,
Leave was granted the Somerset county delegation to in-
troduce a bill to reduce the number of trustees of the Metho-
dist, Episcopal church at Kingston, Somerset county.

On motion of Mr. Stanford,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to amend the charter of the Somerset and Worces-
ter County Savings Bank.

On motion of Mr. Burgess,

The rules were suspended and the House took up for con-
sideration the bill entitled, an act to provide for the instruc-
tion of the deaf and dumb:
