On motion of Mr. Maxwell,

Leave was granted the Cecil county delegation to introduce
a bill to increase the amount of the bond of the clerk of the
commissioners of Cecil county.

Mr. Legg proposed the following:

Whereas, The appointment of an efficient and competent
committee clerk, one known for his clerical skill, at this
juncture of the session of this House, will facilitate its busi-
ness, and not leave so much to be done on the night of its
adjournment, when all is confusion and bustle; therefore,

Ordered, That the Speaker be and he is hereby requested
to appoint such an additional clerk as is contemplated by the
above preamble;

Which was rejected.

Mr. Beall proposed the following:

Ordered, That Saturday morning next be set apart, after
the reports of the standing and special committees shall have
been received, for the consideration of bills reported by the
committee on Claims;

Which was not adopted.

Mr. Compton proposed the following message:
