By the House of Delegates,

March 1st, 1860.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We respectfully propose to your honorable body, the ap-
pointment of a committee on the part of the Senate, to confer
with a committee on the part of this House, us to the proper
mode of procuring the code to be printed and indexed,

We have appointed Messrs. Briscoe, Gordon and Naill, on
the part of this House.

Which was concurred in, and

On motion of Mr. Briscoe,

The select committee already appointed on that subject,
were discharged from the further consideration of the subject.

On motion of Mr. Gorsuch,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate the Deerpark and Westminster rail-
road company in Carroll county.

On motion of Mr. Mills.

Leave was granted Messrs. Mills, Denison, of Baltimore
city, and Morgan, to introduce a bill requiring the State
wharfinger to rent out to the highest bidder, the State wharves
in the city of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Smith,

Leave was granted the committee on Ways and Means to
introduce a bill to authorize the treasurer of the State to sub-
scribe for shares in the American Consolidated Telegraph
company, for the purpose of constructing a telegraph from
the city of Baltimore to Annapolis and Thomas' Point.

On motion of Mr. Krafft,

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to bring in a
bill to return a certain sum of money to Mary Jane Durham,
of Baltimore city.

On motion of Mr. Johnson,
Leave was granted the Frederick county delegation to in-
