On motion,

The House took up for consideration the bill entitled, an
act to incorporate the Union Express company;

Said bill being upon its second reading,

Mr. Eakle proposed the following amendment:

"And be it further enacted, That the stockholders shall be
individually responsible for all the acts of the said Express
company;"

Pending the consideration,

Under the order at 2 o'clock the House adjourned until 3½
P. M.

AFTERNOON SESSION, 3½ o'clock.
