Was indefinitely postponed.
Also, on Senate bill entitled, a further supplement to an
act entitled, an act to incorporate companies to make several
turnpike roads through Baltimore county, and for other pur-
poses, to authorise the laying down and equipment of a
railway on the Baltimore and Yorktown Turnpike Road, be-
tween Baltimore city and Towsontown, and the collection of
tolls thereon;
Also, on Senate bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Mis-
pillion and Choptank Railroad company.
Mr. Miller, from a special committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act granting the leave of the Legisla-
ture to a devise made in the last will and testament of Benja-
min Bowen, late of Cecil county, deceased, to the trustees of
the Presbyterian Church at the head of Christiana Creek,
Delaware;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Burgess, from a special committee, reported favorably
on the Senate bill entitled, an act to provide for the instruc-
tion of the deaf and dumb;
With the following proposed amendments:
First section, after the word "friends," in the ninth line,
insert the words: "provided, such parent, guardian or next
friend has been a bona fide citizen of this State for at least
two years previous to such application;"
Same section, in twelfth line, after the word "twenty,"
strike out the word "five," and insert "one;"
Fourth page, second line, after the word "exceed," strike
out the words "seven thousand," and insert "five thou-
sand."
Mr. Long, chairman of a select committee, reported favor-
ably on the bill to establish the boundary line between Dor-
chester and Somerset counties;
