On motion of Mr. Kessler,

Leave was granted the Frederick county delegation to in-
troduce a bill to make valid a deed of the Methodist Protes-
tant church of Jefferson;

Also, leave was granted the same delegation to introduce
a bill to authorise the commissioners of Frederick county to
build a bridge over Catocton creek, at Mealy's mills.

On motion of Mr. Brown,

Leave was granted the committee of Claims to introduce a
bill for the relief of F. M. Shipley.

On motion of Mr. Turner, of Baltimore city,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill entitled, an act to legalize the sale of a term
of year servant, and to empower W. Francis Beall to give a
bill of sale of said servant.

On motion of Mr. Roop,

Leave was granted the Carroll and Frederick county dele-
gations to introduce a bill to incorporate a turnpike road com-
pany in Carroll and Frederick counties called the Baltimore
and Liberty Turnpike Road company in Carroll and Freder-
ick comities.

On motion of Mr. Brining,

Leave was granted to withdraw the reference of a bill to
repeal section 277 of article 4 of the code of public local
laws from the committee on the Judiciary, and refer the same
to the committee on Inspections.

On motion of Mr. Turner, of Howard,

Leave was granted the Howard and Montgomery county
delegations to introduce a bill to open a public road from Pop-
lar Springs, in Howard county, to the Parrsville road, in
Montgomery county.

On motion of Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to introduce a
bill to compensate W. J. Jones for services rendered in the
argument of a cause before the Court of Appeals, per order
of the Governor.

Mr. Bryan offered the following:

Ordered, That the committee on Claims pay to Col. John
B. Brooke the amount due Robert Bowie, deceased, late a
committee clerk of this House;

Which was adopted.
