to introduce a bill for the benefit of James T. Perkins, late
sheriff of Queen Anne's county.                                       

On motion of Mr. Brown,

Leave was granted the Howard county delegation to intro-
duce a bill to give Seth W. Warfield, late sheriff and col-
lector for Howard county, further time to close his collections.

Mr. Goldsborough, chairman of the committee on Corpo-
rations, reported favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act
to add an additional section to the supplement to the act to
incorporate the Metropolitan Railroad Company, passed Jan-
uary session, 1853, chapter 196 ;                             

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Union
Express Company ;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to authorize the Baltimore
and Reisterstown Turnpike Company to construct or contract
to be constructed, a passenger railway on the side of said
turnpike, from the limits of the city of Baltimore to the end
of the said turnpike road, or to any point thereof;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the propri-
etors of St. Peter's Cemetery ;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to add a new article to the
code of public local laws, for the protection of the fishing
grounds of the Choptank river, between the mouth of Hunt-
ing Creek and the town of Denton, in Caroline county ;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Pea-
body Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore ;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Carrol-
ton Avenue Company ;

Also, on the House bill entitled, an act to incorporate the
Maryland Express Company ;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Coudy moved that the said bill, and other express com-
pany bills, as reported, be printed, which was not assented

Mr. Goldsborough reported favorably on the bill entitled,
an act to amend the 93rd section of the 20th article of the
code of public local laws, in relation to the town of Oxford,
in Talbot county;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Far-
mers' and Mechanics' Marine Railway Company of Sharps-
town, Somerset county;

Which were severally read the first time.
