564             JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 25,

On motion of Mr. Turner, of Howard,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the Patapsco Gas Light company
of Ellicott's Mills.

On motion of Mr. Maxwell,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate the Baltimore Gymnasium.

Also, leave was granted the committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the United Cities Land com-
pany.

Mr. Maxwell offered the following:

Ordered, That a committee be appointed to equalise and
and regulate the mileage of the members of this House.

Which was adopted, and Messrs. Maxwell, Parian, Hard-
ing, Jones, of Talbot and Jones, of Prince George's, con-
stituted said committee.

Also, offered the following:

Ordered, That the committee on Claims be directed to pay
unto Edward C. Frazier, the sum of forty-four dollars, for
services as Sergeant-at-Arms to the joint committee on the
Maryland Penitentiary, for twenty-two days; and also, the
additional sum of forty-four dollars, to Henry T. Houck, for
twenty-two days services as Doorkeeper to the same com-
mittee.

Which was not adopted.
On motion of Mr. Naill,

Leave was granted the Frederick county delegation to in-
troduce a bill to prohibit the sale of spirituous liquors within
three miles of Mount St. Mary's College in Frederick county,
outside of the corporate limits of Emmittsburg, in said
county.

On motion of Mr. McAllister,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to intro-
duce a bill to amend the 772d section of the 4th article of the
code of public local lawn.

On motion Mr. Goldsborough,

Leave was granted the Talbot and Caroline county dele-
gations to introduce a bill to amend the act to incorporate
the town of Oxford, Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Legg,
Leave was granted to the Queen Anne's county delegation
