Mr. Bryan presented the memorial of sundry citizens of
the fourth and fifth election districts of Prince George's
county, praying for an additional primary school;

Referred to the Prince George's county delegation.

Mr. Freaner presented a petition to establish a new elec-
tion district in Washington county;

Referred to the committee on Elections.

Mr. Claggett presented a petition from Elizabeth Bets, the
widow of a revolutionary soldier, praying for a pension;

Referred to the committee on Pensions.

Mr. Mackubin presented the memorial of citizens of Anne
Arundel county, asking the passage of a law requiring the
commissioners for Anno Arundel county to levy a tax to pay
John Redmiles for one-half the work performed by him in
constructing a bridge over the south fork of the Patuxent
River;

Referred to the Anne Arundel county delegation.
On motion of Mr. McAllister,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill for the incorporation of the Minors' Saving
Bank, in the city of Baltimore,

Mr. Dennis, of Somerset, offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary be instruct-
ed to inquire into the expediency of reporting a bill to give
to the State, in all cases of prosecution, upon presentment
or indictment, the same right of challenge with the ac-
cused;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Dennis, of Somerset county, offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary, be instruct-
ed to inquire into the expediency of introducing a bill to
authorise judgments to be entered up in civil cases, when the
verdict is rendered by two-thirds or less, than the full num-
ber of twelve;

Which was adopted.
