mittee on Corporations.

A bill entitled, an act to amend the 83d article of the code
of public general laws, relating to schools, by adding thereto
certain sections making an annual appropriation for the en-
couragement of a school for the education of those wishing to
pursue the calling of a sailor;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Education.

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Baltimore City
Passenger Railway company;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time and referred to the committee
on Corporations.

A bill entitled, an act to change the name of Thomas Bar-
ber Slye to Thomas Barber, the name of Amelia Slye to
Amelia Barber, the name of George Henry Slye to George
Henry Barber, the name of John Green Slye to John Green
Barber, and the name of Chapman Billingsley Slye to Chap-
man Billingsley Barber;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on the Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Freaner,

The rules were suspended and the House took up for con-
sideration the bill entitled, an act to amend the fourth article
of the code of public local laws, by adding thereto the follow-
ing sections, requiring and prescribing the mode of registering
the legal voters in the city of Baltimore;

Mr. Freaner moved to make said bill the order of the day
for Saturday next;

Mr. Krafft proposed as a substitute, to make it the order of
the day for Thursday next;

The yeas and nays were ordered, and appeared as follow:
