The second reading of the bill was then resumed, when
On motion of Mr. Burgess,

The House resolved itself into a committee of the whole,
for the consideration of the bill entitled, an act to carry into
effect the 8th section of the act entitled, an act for the pro-
motion of internal improvements, passed at December session,
1835, chapter 395.

After sometime spent in committee of the whole, the
committee rose, the Speaker resumed the chair, and Mr.
Maxwell, chairman of the committee of whole House, re-
ported that they had had the bill entitled, an act to carry
into effect the 8th article of the act entitled, an act for the
promotion of internal improvements, passed at December
session, 1835, chapter 395—under consideration, and had
made some progress thereon, and asked to be discharged from
the further consideration of the same;

The House concurred in the report.
On motion of Mr. Burgess,

The House again resolved itself into a committee of the
whole upon the consideration of the bill entitled, an act to
carry into effect the eighth section of the act entitled, an act
for the promotion of internal improvements, passed at Decem-
ber session, 1835, chapter 395.

After sometime spent in committee of the whole, the com-
mittee rose, the Speaker resumed the chair, and Mr. Ford,
chairman, reported that they had had under consideration
of the committee of the whole House the bill entitled, an act
to carry into effect the 89th section of the act entitled, an act
for the promotion of internal improvements, passed at De-
cember session, 1835, chapter 395, and report the bill to the
House without amendment, and ask to be discharged from
the further consideration of the same;

Which report was concurred in.
