The following message was received from the Executive,
per hands of his private Secretary:

A communication with accompanying papers of Emanuel
Myers, asking compensation for certain services rendered;

Which were read, and referred to the committee on Claims.

The House then resumed the consideration of the bill en-
titled, an act to carry into effect the 8th section of the act
entitled, an act for the promotion of internal improvements,
passed at December session, 1835, chapter 395;

The question being upon the motion of Mr. Briscoe, to re-
fer it to the committee on Ways and Means;

Mr. Goldsborough moved the previous question;

Which was sustained.
