Mr. McAllister, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an
act to amend the 4th article of the code of public local laws
by adding thereto the following sections, prescribing the
manner of collecting and disposing of the costs taxable in
the Criminal court of Baltimore city, and of paying the
salaries of the various officers of said court;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. McCoy, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act
to authorise Juliana Hill, of Harford county, to convey two
lots of ground to St. John's church, in Havre de Grace;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Compton, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an
act to authorise the school commissioners for Charles county,
to pay over to the creditors of George R. Fulmer, the amount
of money ascertained to be due Fulmer as teacher;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Johnson, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an
act to amend the 49th section of the 11th article of the code
of public local laws, which fixes the number of election dis-
tricts in Frederick county, by increasing the number of said
districts;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Salmon, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act
to repeal the 18th section of the 11th article of the code of
public local laws relating to summoning jurors to the Circuit
court for Frederick county;
Which was read the first time.
The House next took up for consideration the unfinished
business of yesterday, being the substitute offered by Mr.
Burgess (printed bill No. 44) for Mr. Jacobs' bill;

The rules were suspended, when he reported favorably on
the bill entitled, an act to repeal the 21st and 26th sections of
the 56th article of the code of public general laws, regulating
the issuing of licenses to hawkers and pedlars, and to sub-
stitute therefor the following sections, regulating and re-
straining the issuing of such licenses;
