Mr. Mackubin, chairman of the committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably on the bill entitled, an act appropriating a
sum of money to pay A. B. Hagner, attorney for Tucker,
Tongue & O'Hara, Nicholas H. Green, clerk of the Circuit
court for Anne Arundel county, Levin Woolford, clerk of the
Circuit court for Somerset county, J. S. Inloes, John Clark
and Whitney & Cushing, for services rendered, and articles
furnished the State;
Also, on the bill entitled, an act to compensate John Cul-
len for services rendered and losses incurred in the discharge
of his duties as an officer of the State;
Also, on the bill entitled, an act to compensate J. M.
Hauck, sheriff of Washington county, for services rendered
and expenses incurred by him by authority of the Governor;
Which were severally read the first time.
Mr. Maxwell, from the committee on Corporations, report-
ed favorably on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate a com-
pany to build a turnpike from Bel Air to Frogtown;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Gordon, chairman of the committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to confirm and
make valid the acts of Edward J. Peters, as a justice of the
peace in Baltimore city;
Which was read the first time.
Also, unfavorably on the bill entitled, an act to amend the
19th section of article 50 of the revised laws of the State.
Mr. Jones, of Prince George's, from a select committee, re-
ported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to refund to
Henry T. Scott, administrator of William Scott, late collec-
tor of State and county taxes for Prince George's county, cer-
tain moneys overpaid by said administrator into the treasury
of Maryland;
Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Claims.
Also, on the bill entitled, an act to grant the leave of the
legislature to the vestry of Zion Parish, in Prince George's
county, to dispose of their interest in the Bladensburg Epis-
copal Parsonage and lot in said county;
Also, on the bill entitled, an act to change the name of
Mary Jones, of Prince George's county, to Mary Tuck Jones;
Also, on the bill entitled, an act to allow Joshua C. Hig-
