Thomas A. Mitchell, William A. Parran, J. Wesley White,
Thomas Leo, Frederick C. Hyde, John H. Freeman and
Leonard Hayden, against the State;

A bill entitled, a supplement to an act entitled, an act to
incorporate the Eastern Shore Railroad company;

A bill entitled an act to incorporate the City Block Ferry
and Towing company;

A bill entitled, a supplement to an act entitled, an act to
incorporate the Hillen Road company of Baltimore county;

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the town of Union-
town, in Carroll county, Maryland;

A bill entitled, an act to grant the Frostburg Bank, in
Allegany county, certain privileges;

Severally endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."

Mr. Morgan presented a memorial from William Scott and
51 other citizens of St. Mary's county, praying the passage
of an act, having for its relief the gradual abolition of free
negroism in Maryland;

Referred to the committee on Colored Population.

Mr. Turner, of Baltimore city, presented a petition from
sundry citizens of Baltimore city, against the incorporation
of any passenger railway company in that city, that will not
convey passengers at a rate not exceeding three cents;

Referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Hunter presented a petition from Matthew Burton, of
Baltimore county, praying that a certain deed be made valid;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary.
Mr. Morgan offered the following:

Ordered, That an assistant folder be appointed by the
Speaker;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Chaplain offered the following:

Ordered, That Augustus Kearney, be allowed four dollars
per diem, for services in the folding department, from Jan-
uary 21st to February 6th;

Which was adopted.
