Warehouse, and if so, what amount of work was so done,
and when it was done;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Maxwell,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate the Elkton Gas company;

Also, leave was granted the committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Bel Air and Frogtown
Turnpike company;

On motion of Mr. Worthington,

Leave was granted the Baltimore county delegation to in-
troduce a bill to add a new section to the code of public local
laws, relating to justices of the peace in Baltimore county.

Mr. Morgan, chairman of the joint committee, made a re-
port on the State Tobacco Warehouses.

Mr. Mills offered the following:

Ordered, That three thousand copies of the report of the
joint committee on the inspection of the tobacco warehouses
of this State be printed for the use of this House;

Mr. Brining moved to strike out "three." and insert

"one;"

Mr. Chaplain moved to strike out "three thousand," and in-
sert "twenty-five hundred;"

Which was lost.

The question then recurring on the amendment proposed by
Mr. Brining,

It was adopted;

The order, as amended, was then adopted.

Mr. Mackubin, chairman of the committee on Claims, re-
ported unfavorably on the bill entitled, an act to compensate
J. H. Pope, of Maryland, for arresting certain parties herein
named engaged in the kidnapping and running off slaves and
for other trespasses;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to indemnify Joseph
Sprigg, of Allegany county, for the loss of his negro man
