On motion of Mr. McCleary,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to intro-
duce a bill to amend the fiftieth article of the code of public
general laws, by repealing section forty-one, in relation to
justices of the peace, in Allegany county.

Mr. Gordon, from the committee on the Judiciary, report-
ed favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act to authorise
the vestry of Prince George's parish, in Montgomery county,
to hold a lot of land not exceeding fifteen acres for a parson-
age and burying ground;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 187th section,
relating to sheriff's, of the third 3d article of the code of pub-
lic local laws;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 24th, 25th
and 35th sections, relating to the city of Cumberland, of the
1st article of the code of public local laws;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 14th article
of the code of public local laws, by adding thereto the follow-
ing section forbidding the clerk of the Circuit court for Kent
county to issue licenses to sell spirituous and fermented li-
quors unless upon the recommendation of the grand jury;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 116th
section the 92d article of the code of public general laws,
which establishes the order of payment of the debts of a de-
cedant by making physicians' bills in the last illness of a
decedent preferred claims;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Gordon, from the committee on the Judiciary, made
an unfavorable report on the bill entitled, an act to make
valid the proceedings of the Circuit court for Washington
county, sitting in equity, in a case in which certain real es-
tate belonging to the estate of J. H. Kennedy, deceased, was
Hold by order of said court;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 90th section
of the 30th article of the code of public laws by adding there-
to the following;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to authorise John C. Clarke,
