allowing Jeremiah S. Pattison, Levi D. Travers, Thomas B.
Travers, William K. Travers and Samuel M. Travers, to con-
struct a pier connected with said bridge, and allowing them
to charge wharfage on said pier;

Referred to the Dorchester county delegation.
On motion of Mr. Brining,

Leave was granted the Washington county delegation to
introduce a bill in relation to the school commissioners of
Washington county.

On motion of Mr. Jones, of Prince George's,

Leave was granted the Prince George's and Montgomery
county delegations to introduce a bill authorising and direct-
ing a survey of the dividing lines between Prince George's
and Montgomery counties.

Mr. Goldsborough offered the following:

Ordered, That Charles L. Flanagan, during the time of
his serving as clerk to the committee on Maryland Peniten-
tiary, be considered and he is hereby declared to be a clerk of
this House, and shall receive the compensation usually paid
to clerks of this House, while serving on special committees;

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Morgan,

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to introduce a
bill for the relief of the chief clerks in the various tobacco
warehouses, in the city of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Naill,

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to introduce a
bill to compensate Joseph W. Ebberts, late sheriff of Frede-
rick county, for services rendered on the Pennsylvania and
Potomac lines, on the 29th and 30th days of October, 1859,
by order of the Governor.

Also, leave was granted the Frederick county delegation to
introduce a bill to repeal the 187th section of act 11th of the
Public local laws.

Mr. Jacobs offered the following:

Ordered, That the Harper's Ferry papers—correspondence
between John W. Garrett, president of the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad company, Governor Wise, of Virginia, Gov-
ernor Hicks, of Maryland, and President Buchanan, &c., on
