370              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 10,

estate on Kent county, from Samuel E. Baker, of said
county, to be held in trust for the Methodist Episcopal church
on Kent circuit, for the purpose of holding camp meetings,
or other meetings on the same Sunday, school festivals, &c;
Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Griffith, from special committee, reported favora-
bly on Senate bill entitled, an act to allow William Thomp-
son, of R., trustee of William O. Chappell, deceased, and
late sheriff for Montgomery county, and collector of Election
District No. 4, of said county, further time to collect the un-
paid fees and taxes due the said William O. Chappell;

Also, on Senate bill entitled, an act for the relief of the
trustees of the poor house for Montgomery county;

Also, on Senate bill entitled, an act to authorise the com-
missioners of Montgomery county, to levy a sum of money
for the use of Captain French Forrest, surviving administra-
tor of Joseph Forrest, deceased;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Welch, from a special committee, reported favorably
on Senate bill entitled, an act to amend the 162d section of
article 2, of the code of public local laws, relating to the
salary of the clerk to the commissioners of primary schools
for Anne Arundel county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Legg, from the special committee on Wild Fowl, re-
ported favorably on Senate bill entitled, an act to repeal sec-
tions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 0, of article 97 of the code of public gene-
ral laws, under the title of Wild Fowl, and to add the follow-
ing sections;

Which was read the first time.

The hour having arrived for taking up the unfinished busi-
ness of yesterday,

Mr. McAllister asked that the rules be suspended to enable
him to offer a petition;

Pending the consideration of which,
Mr. Goldsborough moved that the unfinished business be
postponed for half an hour;
Which was not sustained.
Mr. Gordon moved a call of the House:
Pending the call of the House;

On motion of Mr. Worthington.
The Doorkeeper was sent after the absent members.
