362              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 9,

On motion of Mr. Jones, of Prince George's,

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to introduce a
bill for the relief of Henry T. Scott, of Prince George's
county.

Also, leave was granted the Prince George's county dele-
gation to introduce a bill to change the name of Mary Jones,
of Prince George's county, to Mary Tuck Jones.

Mr. Maxwell offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee on Claims be and they are
hereby authorised and ordered to pay to Charles L. Flanagan,
special clerk and reporter to the examining committee of the
State Penitentiary, eight dollars per diem for such time as he
served said committee in that capacity;

Mr. Brining proposed to amend by striking out "eight,"
and inserting "five;"

The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follow:
