Mr. Eakle presented a petition of sundry citizens of Wash-
ington county, against discriminative local charges on the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad;

Referred to a special committee on that subject.

Mr. Salmon presented a petition from John A. Lynch, and
145 other citizens of Frederick county, praying that certain
citizens of Maryland may he protected from a pending prose-
cution in Pennsylvania for kidnapping;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary".
On motion of Mr. McCoy,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to repeal an act to amend the charter of the Phil-
adelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad company, so
much as relates to building a bridge on or about Havre de
Grace, passed April 4, 1853, chapter 138;

On motion of Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted the Cecil county delegation to introduce
a bill entitled, an act to authorise John Gilpin, of Cecil
county, to close a certain road in said county.

On motion of Mr. Legg,

Leave was granted the Queen Anne's county delegation to
introduce a bill to extend the time of Edward Sudler, late
sheriff of Queen Anne's county, for the collection of all fees,
fines, forfeitures, amercements and public dues, which were
placed in his hands for collection during his term of office.

On motion of Mr. Jacobs,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to intro-
duce a bill for the passage of an act to make valid the last
will and testament of Thomas West, late of Worcester
county, deceased.

Mr. Claggett offered the following:

Ordered, That it be entered on the journal that Mr. Rout-
zahn is kept from his place by serious sickness in his family;

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Naill,

Leave was granted the Frederick county delegation to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate the Mechanicstown Saving's Insti-
tution in Frederick county.

On motion of Mr. Brining,

Leave was granted the Washington county delegation
to introduce a bill to change the name of Ann Elizabeth
Bloomenown to Ann Elizabeth Dumbaugh.
