Frederick county, in relation to the Frederick and Harper's
Ferry Ridge Road;

Referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Salmon presented a petition of Wm. R. Dorsey and
others, citizens of Frederick county, that such steps may he
taken by the Legislature as will protect certain citizens of
Maryland from a prosecution pending against them in Penn-
sylvania for kidnapping;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary.
Mr. McAllister presented a petition in reference to a pas-
senger railway in Baltimore;                                 

Referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Worthington presented various petitions from citizens
of Baltimore county, asking the continuance of certain school
tax in Baltimore county;

Referred to the Baltimore county delegation.

Mr. Bryan presented a memorial of sundry citizens of
Prince George's county, praying the enlargement of the 9th
election district;

Referred to the Prince George's county delegation.

Mr. Mackubin presented a petition of citizens of the third
election district, of Anne Arundel county, praying the pas-
sage of a law prohibiting the sale of intoxicating liquors
therein;

Referred to the Anne Arundel county delegation.

Mr. Jacobs presented a petition to complete the draining
of the Pocomoke river, as provided by the act of 1841;
Referred to the Worcester county delegation.

Mr. Denison, of Baltimore city, presented a preamble and
resolutions adopted by the citizens of Baltimore at a meeting
held in the hall of the Maryland Institute February 6, 1860;

Which was read and ordered to be printed.

Mr. Mackubin presented a petition from James Wilson
for compensation for storage of furniture and machinery con-
nected with the stamp office;

Referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Goldsborough presented a petition from the clerk of
the Circuit court of Caroline county, asking for fees overpaid
in the treasury;
