Also, presented a petition of the bailiffs of the circuit
court and jurors of Baltimore county, asking the passage of
a bill to provide for the payment of per diem during the ad-
journment of the said court;                                           

Referred to the same delegation.

Mr. Denison, of Baltimore county, presented a memorial
opposed to any change in the present mode of appointing
guagers of liquors, &c.;

Referred to the committee on Inspections.

Also, presented a memorial in favor of the reduction of
licenses;

Referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Barnard presented a petition of George S. Evans and
33 other citizens of Allegany county, praying a reduction of
the salary of the superintendent of the national road in Alle-
gany county;

Referred to the committee on Roads and Highways.

Also, presented a petition of Andrew Arendt and 42 other
citizens of Allegany county, praying a reduction of the salary
of the superintendent of the national road in Allegany
county:

Referred to the same committee.

Also, presented a petition of 53 citizens of Cumberland,
praying the removal of certain buildings;
Referred to the Allegany county delegation.

Mr. Worthington presented a memorial from Charles G.
Lyon and others, praying the passage of a law to authorise
the trustees of Garrison Forest Academy, in Baltimore coun-
ty, to convey a certain lot of land to the trustees of the Me-
thodist Episcopal Church in Baltimore county;

Referred to the committee on Corporations.

Also, presented a petition from Rezin H. Worthington and
80 others, praying the passage of a law requiring the com-
missioners of Baltimore county to subscribe $5,000 to the
Baltimore and Liberty Road Turnpike company;

Referred to the Baltimore county delegation.

Mr. Jones, of Prince George's county, presented a petition
of sundry citizens of Prince George's county, praying the
passage of an act for the better regulation of the fisheries on
the Patuxent river, and to prohibit the use of gill and stake
nets thereon;

Referred to the special committee on Oysters and Fish.
