Which was read, and concurred in.
Mr. Long proposed the following:

By the House of Delegates,

January 9, 1860.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received your message in relation to the commit-
tee appointed upon the contemplated code, and concur there-
in. We have appointed Messrs. Long, Maxwell, Briscoe,
Gordon and Naill, on the part of this House.

By order,

Milton Y. Kidd,
Chief Clerk.

Which was read, and sent to the Senate.
On motion,

Messrs. Legg and Lawson were appointed additional mem-
bers upon the committee on Oysters.

Mr. Seth offered the following:

Ordered, That the Speaker be authorized to make arrange-
ments for the accommodation of the various committees, and
the committee clerks.

On motion of Mr. Briscoe,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary, to in-
troduce a bill to grant the leave of the Legislature to a sale
of land to the trustees of All Saints' Parish, Calvert county ;

Mr. Linthicum asked leave to introduce a bill to authorize
the dredging of Oysters in the Chesapeake Bay.

Which was referred to Messrs. Linthicum, Parran, Rasin.
Long and Morgan.

Mr. Gordon offered the following:

Ordered, that the special committee appointed in the case
of Hon. Henry Stump, have power to send for persons and
papers ;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Morgan offered the following :

Ordered, That the Chief Clerk of tins House obtain through
the delegations of the several counties, and the city of Balti-
more, a list of the newspapers published in said counties and
city, and forward to the publishers of the same, a copy of the
Journal of this House.
