290              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS. [Feb. 6,

Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate communicate
the above resolutions to the House of Delegates.

On motion of Mr. Harding,
The House adjourned until Monday morning, At twelve

o'clock.                                                                         

MONDAY, February 6, 1860.

The House met pursuant to adjournment, and was opened
with prayer by the Rev. Mr. Davenport.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Kilbourn, Speaker, Durant, Morgan, Rasin, Med-
ders, Welch, Mackubin, Compton, Ford, Jones, of Talbot,
Chaplain, Dennis, of Somerset, Long, Stanford, Linthicum,
Keene, Holland, Maxwell, Bryan, Wootton, Jones, of Prince
George's, Legg, Starkey, Landing, Dennis, of Worcester,
Johnson, Salmon, Wilson, of Harford, McCoy, Straughn,
Krafft, Booze, Berry, McAllister, Smith, Turner, of Balti-
more city, Coudy, Brining, Griffith, Harding, Gordon, Beall,
Roop and Gorsuch.

The proceedings of Friday were read.

Communications were received from the following banks
and banking-houses, in the city of Baltimore, in response to
an order of the House, calling for information in regard to
the number of protests made by each during the year ending
the 30th September, 1859:

Merchants' Bank;
Commercial and Farmers' Bank;
Union Bank of Maryland;
