the Mechanics' Loan and Savings' Institute, at Hagerstown,
Maryland;

Which was read the first time.                                 

Mr. Krafft, from a select committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, a further supplement to the act entitled,
an act respecting hay and straw brought for sale to the city
of Baltimore;                   

Which was read the first time.                                 

Mr. Denison, of Baltimore city, reported favorably on the
bill entitled, an act approving ordinance No. six, of the
mayor and city council of Baltimore city, approved Decem-
ber 7th, 1859;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Worthington, from a select committee, reported the
bill entitled, an act to make public a road leading from the
village of Catonsville, in Baltimore county, to the Rolling
road, comprising the road known as Bloomsbury lane and the
road now leading from the end of said lane to the said Rol-
ling road;

Which was read the first time.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage:

By the Senate,                   


February 3, 1860.

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:                                   

We herewith send to you, for your action, certain resolu-
tions which we have this day unanimously adopted, in respect
to the memory of General William Lingan Gaither, lately a
member of this body;

Resolved, That the members of the Senate, from a desire
of showing every mark of respect to the memory of General
William Lingan Gaither, late Senator from Montgomery
county, will go into mourning for one month, by the usual
mode of wearing crape on the left arm.

Resolved, That as a further mark of respect entertained by
the Senate for the memory of the deceased, that the Senate
adjourn until Monday, at 12 o'clock.
