4.  The Orange and Alexandria Railroad;

5.  The Virginia Central Railroad;

6.  The Reading Railroad;                                       

7.  The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad;

8.  The rates of through and way charges on the English
and French Railroads;

As far as the committee may be able, to report them to this
House; and that the said committee are further instructed to
report to this House whether freight can he carried for a short
distance on a railroad at the same cost per mile that it can be
carried the whole route, and, if not, to report the elements of
the difference in cost;

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Bryan,

Leave was granted the Prince George's county delegation
to introduce a bill authorising the commissioners for Prince
George's county to purchase a correct map of said county.

Mr. Gordon offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee on Corporations be and they
are hereby empowered to send for such witnesses and papers
as the city of Passenger Railway company case may require;

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Linthicum,                   

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill to amend so much of the code of general laws
as relates to contested elections.

On motion of Mr. Linthicum,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill to permit and order the appeal of certain con-
tested election cases in the county of Dorchester.

On motion of Mr. Miller,             

Leave was granted the Cecil county delegation to intro-
a bill to amend the 170th, 171st, 172d, 173rd sections of
article 8 of the code of public laws, relating to sheep in Cecil
county.

The time having arrived for taking up the orders of the
day,

Mr. Landing moved a call of the House;
