On motion of Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted the committee on Ways and Means to
introduce a bill to amend the 77th article of the code of pub-
lic general laws, by amending the 17th section, which pro-
vides for binding out children in the House of Refuge, by
authorising the managers to bind them cither in or out of the
State; the 18th section, which directs the manner of receiv-
ing inmates thereto, by authorising the managers to receive
the children of such parents as may desire it; and the 21st
and 22d sections, which appropriate and direct the payment
of a sum of money annually for the support of the House of
Refuge, by increasing said sum and extending the time for
the payment thereof.

On motion of Mr. Turner, of Howard,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to intro-
duce a bill to provide a registry of voters for the city of Bal-
timore,                                                       

On motion of Mr. Legg,

Leave was granted the Queen Anne's county delegation to
introduce a bill to provide for a general index of judgments
in Queen Anne's county.

On motion of Mr. Wootton,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to extend the charter of the Baltimore and Poto-
mac Railroad.

On motion of Mr. Compton,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Agricultural
Bank of Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Mills.

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the Patuxent Express Steam
company.

Mr. Briscoe offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee on Internal Improvements
report to this House the rates of through and way charges on
the following roads:

1.  The New York Central Railroad;

2.  The New York and Erie Railroad;                         

3.  The Pennsylvania Central Railroad;
