Baltimore city to the Relay House, through the lands of
Col. J. B. Forbes.

On motion of Mr. Mills,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill making valid a deed from R. H. Hagner and
and wife, to Judy Jones, free negro.

On motion of Mr. Freaner,                                     

Leave was granted the Washington county delegation to
introduce a bill to amend the seventh section of an act in-
corporating the Hagerstown and Sharpsburg turnpike com-
pany.

Mr. Johnson presented a petition of John D. Crumbaugh,
and sundry other citizens of Frederick county, praying to
amend the charter of Woodsborough turnpike company ;

Referred to the Frederick county delegation.

On motion of Mr. Morgan,                         

Leave was granted the committee on Pilots to introduce
a bill to amend the 16th section, article 73, entitled pilots.

Mr. Mackubin offered the following:                                 

Ordered, That so much of the Governors message as relates
to the State House and Public Grounds, be referred to a select
committee of five, to be appointed by the Speaker.

Which was adopted, and

Messrs. Mackubin, Long, Morgan, Griffith and Dennis, of
Worcester, constitute said committee.

Also, submitted the following:

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Governor, be and he is hereby requested to direct the
Adjutant General of this State, to furnish to the President
and Faculty of St. John's College, seventy-five cadets
muskets and accoutrements, including percussion caps, toge-
ther with twelve sergeants swords and twelve lieutenants
swords, fit for parade, for the use of said College.

Which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Beall,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to report
a bill entitled, an act to incorporate a turnpike road company
leading from the town of Frostburg, to the town of Western-
port, in Allegany county.
