JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 21,

for an act annuling the Baltimore and Washington Turnpike
company;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Jones, of Prince George's,

Leave was granted the Prince George's and Anne Arun-
del county delegations to introduce a bill, authorising the
county commissioners of Anne Arundel and Prince George's
counties, to appropriate a sufficient sum of money to rebuild
a bridge across the big Patuxent river, near Snowden's old
iron works.

On motion of Mr. Ford,

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to introduce a
bill, to refund to Charles H. Mann, a sum of money overpaid
into the Treasury.

Mr. Medders presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Kent county, to restore the granting of liquor license to the
grand jury;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Kessler presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Frederick county, playing for the building of a bridge over
Catoctin creek;

Referred to the Frederick county delegation.               

Mr. Long presented a petition from John Cullen, of Som-
erset county, with explanatory documents, asking for the
payment of certain moneys expended by him in the capture
of certain vessels, for violating the oyster laws, under the
authority and direction of the attorney general of' the State
and his deputies;

Referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Medders presented a petition from Daniel Jones, of
Kent county, for an act to authorise the Circuit court for
Kent county to appoint five commissioners, to divide certain
real estate;

Referred to the Kent county delegation.

Mr. Morgan presented a petition from F. W. Brune &
Sons, and forty-one other merchants, praying the regulation
of the pilot law, so as to require all registered vessels, other
than coastwise, to take a pilot, when boarded by the pilots,
outside of Cape Henry;                   

Referred to Messrs. Morgan, Briscoe, Smith, Berry and
Dennis, of Somerset.
