Mr. Chaplain proposed the following amendment:

After the word "scholarship," 5th line, 4th section, add
the words: "and the county commissioners of each county,
and the city council of the city of Baltimore, respectively,
availing themselves of the free scholarship, are hereby author-
ised to levy each year the sum of one hundred and fifty dol-
lars, for the support of the free scholars;

Which was not assented to.

Mr. Chaplain proposed the following amendment:

Strike out all the fifth section, after the word "free scholar-

ship;"

Which was lost.
