Mr. Stake offered the following substitute:

Ordered, That the Speaker of this House be authorised to
appoint a Folder to this House, whenever, in his judgment,
the office is not filled in accordance with the existing order of
this House.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Gordon,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to amend sections 98, 99 and 100, of article
30 of the code of public general laws, relating to larceny.

Mr. Worthington moved to take up the bill entitled, an
act for the endowment of the Baltimore Female College;

Which, being upon its second reading,

Said bill was made the order of the day for to-morrow.

Mr. Freaner moved to take up the bill entitled, an act to
amend an act to incorporate the Planters' Mutual Insurance
Company, of Washington county;

Which was read a second time, and by special order a third
time, and passed by yeas and nays as follow:
