troduce a bill to amend section 102, article 1, of the code of
public local laws, relating to constables.

On motion of Mr. McCleary,

Leave was granted the Allegany county delegation to re-

port a bill to amend the charter of the Mutual Fire Insurance
Company, of the city of Cumberland.

Mr. Gordon, from the committee on the Judiciary, reported
favorably on the following bills :

The bill entitled, an act to repeal the 603 and 604th sec-
tions of the fourth articles of the code of public local
laws, which forbid the purchase of vegetables and other arti-
cles in any of the markets in the city of Baltimore, within
ten miles thereof, for the purpose of re-sale ;

The bill entitled, an act to make valid the devisees or be-
quests of Louisa Dunning, late of Talbot county, Maryland,
to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church of St.
Michael's in said county ;

The bill entitled, an act for the benefit of Henry Hoffman,
of Frederick county ;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Gordon, from the committee on the Judiciary, made an
unfavorable report upon the bill entitled, an act authorising
Jesse K. Hines, Clerk of the Circuit court for Kent county, to
record a deed given to David A. Price, by William Whit-
ington and wife ;

Which was adopted.

Also, an unfavorable report upon the petition of sundry
citizens of Washington county, praying an alteration in the
attachment laws;

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Landing,

The rules were suspended, and

Leave was granted the committee on Education, to report
a bill to amend and improve the free school laws in Worcester
county.

Mr. Goldsborough, from the committee on Corporations,
reported favorably upon the following bills :

The bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Bare Hill
Mining Company;
