112              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS. [Jan. 19,

Mr. McAllister offered the following:

Ordered, That the sheriff of Baltimore city report to this
House, on or before the 26th instant, the amount of costs col-
lected in criminal cases in the Criminal court for Baltimore;
what amount of costs so collected was paid to the several offi-
cers attached to said court for the year 1858, and the year

1859.                                                       

Which was adopted.                                                          

On motion of Mr. Beall,

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to report a bill
refunding to Asahel Willison, late collector of Allegany
County, certain money erroneously paid to the State.

On motion of Mr. Bayless,                                           

Leave was granted the Harford county delegation to report
a bill to tax dogs in Harford county, for the protection of
sheep.

On motion of Mr. Wilson, of Cecil,

Leave was granted the Cecil county delegation to report
a bill entitled, an act to amend article 8 of the code of public
local laws, by raising the salary of the clerk to the commis-
sioners of Cecil county.

Mr. McAllister offered the following :                           

Ordered, That the comptroller of the city of Baltimore re-
port to this House on or before the 26th instant, what amount
of per diem the city has paid to the several officers of the
Criminal court, and what amount paid to the criers of the Su-
perior court and the court of Common Pleas for Baltimore
city,

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Wilson, of Cecil,

Leave was granted the Cecil county delegation to intro-
duce a bill to pay Joseph Wells, former tax collector in Cecil
county, a sum of money erroneously paid by him into the
State Treasury.

On motion of Mr. Naill,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill supplementary to the act entitled, an act to in-
corporate the Frederick and Emmittsburg Turnpike Road
Company.

On motion of Mr. Barnard,                                     

Leave was granted the Allegany county delegation to in-
